Me & my friend Lutch went on a mission to Cemitério São Paulo on Rua Cardeal Arcoverde, 1250, on Tuesday, 10 October 2023. Lutch wanted to visit his Father's grave. I'd told Lucht this Cemetery played a major role in my teenager years for myself, my Mother, Father & siblings lived next to it... sort of a few blocks away on Rua Simpatia, 103 in the early 1960s.
Every 2nd November, Day of the Faithful Deceased (Dia de Finados) this whole neighbourhood acquired an almost amusing atmosphere. Thousands of citizens gladly went out of their way and made a point buying flowers and visit a long-lost-relative's grave to pay respects to them. It is a sort of Memorial or Remembrance Day for all that falls on the next day following All Souls' Day on 1st November.
This is the street where Lutch's Father's grave is located. We had to be led there by another worker who gave Lutch his business card in case he wanted to have it washed, painted and taken care of.

This is the grave which belongs to Carlos Bizin, Lutch's brother. We only found it after resorting to a visit to the Cemetery's offices and get information from a very helpful clerk who told as much as he knew about the various spellings of Lutch's surname that can be Bizin, Bizine and various other spelling. The tombstone on the left reads: Enny B. Moraes (*2nd January 1919 +13 September 1950); Emma B.Garcia (+9 April 1982).
Lutch poses for a photo opportunity in the main isle of Calvary Church next to Cemitery São Paulo. Luiz Amorim next to a grave which has been visited lately...the strong colours of the floral arrangement caught my attention.
