Cine Alhambra opened its doors on 21st July 1928, with Clarence Brown's 'Flesh and the Devil' (A carne e o Diabo) a silent-film starring Greta Garbo, John Gilbert & Lars Hanson; it had opened almost 2 years earlier on Christmas Day, 25 December 1926.
